Kokua: Hawaiian: to extend help, cooperate, pitch in
Kokua Organizing is a local, woman-owned Nashville business that specializes in decluttering and organizing home and work spaces.
My name is Amy Hopeman. I grew up in Hawaii and moved to Nashville in 2012. I am a working mom of a teenager and I understand the value of having belongings put away, where they are easy to find.
Clear the clutter. Clear your mind. Enjoy your space.
We usually start with the space that is your biggest pain point. Whether it's your kitchen, pantry, bedroom, bath, closet, playroom, office or garage, I gently approach each space with the goal of making it function the best for you.
I begin by trying to use storage and display items you already have. When other solutions are needed, I suggest options for you to buy or I buy them, charging my hourly rate. Stores where I shop include The Container Store, Target, Wal-Mart and online, depending on taste and budget.
After our initial work of clearing and organizing, I return monthly, quarterly or as needed to refresh your space.
I also help seasonally with back to school prep, holiday decorating/take down, new year decluttering and spring clearing.
If there is anyone out there that would benefit from a good organization/clean out we have a wonderful recommendation. Her name is Amy Hopeman. Amy has helped us since 2022 with a massive organization/clean-out. She has been an angel encourager as well as THE PERFECT ORGANIZER for us. We will continue to call on Amy for ongoing maintenance. Her prices are reasonable, she's trustworthy, efficient, and great at communication leaving no rocks unturned. She is gentle which is extremely important for an organizer to have this ability. Really, we can't say enough. She is definitely who you need! Many abilities. I might add that she is in high demand so quickly step up to get on her schedule.
Kitchen pantry, countertops, dish shelves. My former office--with years of files on the floor. Clothes closets, bathroom closet and vanity. My husband's study and our son's room--"deconstructed." Amy prints labels, finds containers, even drops off items that you no longer need at places that can use them: a food bank, the Humane Society, a thrift store.
Trustworthy, focused, and determined to solve the room or issue that you present to her--that's Amy. And? She works in a peaceful, quiet manner that is a joy to be around. She is a gem.
Amy has helped me with many projects in my home. She shows up ready to tackle whatever I throw her way. She has helped me clear closets, donate items, repurpose things, throw away items and re-arrange furniture. Her attention to details has given my home a fresh, clean look. It can be a challenge to assist people with the details and things of their life, but Amy does it with a gentle spirit and grace.
It is my pleasure to let you know Amy Hopeman is a treasure to find. I met Amy through my sister as she had been using her talents for a few months. Amy is respectful, honest, strong, smart, very good and neat. I was in a mess after moving back into my home last July. It had been gutted due to water damage. Every corner is now organized and neat. Labeled and all, from closets to drawers and even my storage shed and attic. I also ask Amy to help me with Christmas take down because I decorate to the hilt. Another well pleased customer. She’s worth every penny.
Amy is a dream organizer. She is professional — knows what she is doing, communicates promptly, shows up when she says she will and charges fairly. In addition, she is not emotionally attached to any of your stuff so she will be a great advocate for getting rid of what no longer serves you in your current life (or space). I love working with Amy and have felt that a lot was accomplished every time she has done a space for me. You will be thrilled with the difference she can make in just a few hours!
I would start by telling Amy the issues, my goals, the problems, what wasn’t working in the flow of my home, the practical and maybe the emotional/psychological - questioning my habits or perhaps it was just my busy schedule, concerned about clutter because I didn’t have a designated place for things, frustrated with being unable to find something yet I knew I had duplicates/somewhere! I didn’t know where to start! I didn’t even know how to diagnose in order to ask for the right cure. All the while, Amy is a great listener! She never made me feel like any concern was unimportant. She helped ME put it all together in order to know what I wanted and needed! Without judgement. And then, at a certain point, my words, combined with the physical evidence all around us, and suddenly a light bulb would go off and Amy knew exactly what to do, and how, and why (and wow is she FAST!). In the end, I could always find EVERYTHING! Her logic for how to organize is more advanced than I could implement myself but I never felt I was stepping back into someone ELSE’S space rather than the skillful make-over of my home. I could navigate the new order as if I’d thought of it myself! but in reality of course, I had been at an impasse which Amy got me through. Amy also has a wonderful knack for beautifying whatever area she steps into. After just a few hours the clutter is gone and the air is cleared. Pillows fluffed, bedding refreshed, floors have been renewed.
I look forward to hearing from you.
